Sound DNA and Soundscapes
A sound starts as a small set of numbers: scale, instruments, brightness, space, density. Official Soundscapes are versioned recipes written and tuned by the StillTune team, delivered signed so the app can verify them.

The score conductor
StillTune’s composition engine turns a Soundscape into music one phrase at a time, following rules the team wrote: an intro, development, answers, resolutions and breaths, over a moving harmony. Each device gets its own random seed, so the music is new every time.
- 3Synthesis
The on-device engine
Your phone or browser performs those phrases in real time. It uses oscillators for pads and drones, modal resonators for struck instruments like bells, glass and handpan, and filtered noise for rain, wind, waves and fire.

Space and master
The reverb’s impulse response is generated, not captured in a real room. A gentle master chain (filters and a limiter) keeps the level calm and even before it reaches your speakers.
Because the music is composed while it plays, two sessions of the same Soundscape feel alike, but the actual notes, their timing and their voicing are different every time. No two recordings of StillTune are identical, and there is no master track.
What StillTune is not

No instrument notes, loops or one-shots were recorded and played back.
Not field recordings
The rain, the waves and the café are synthesized from noise, not recorded outdoors.
Not a track library
There is no catalogue of songs behind the app, and nothing is streamed as audio.
Not a trained AI model
The engine is rules and signal processing written by StillTune. It was not trained on anyone’s music.
Every published recording has a paper trail
When StillTune publishes audio on YouTube, Facebook, TikTok or elsewhere, each recording is saved with a render manifest: a record created at the moment of recording.
- The Soundscape, its version and the exact recipe that produced it
- When it was recorded, and for how long
- A SHA-256 hash that ties the record to that exact audio file
- A second-by-second loudness profile, unique to each take
If a StillTune recording is ever claimed by someone else, this record shows that StillTune generated it, when it was made and from what.

Audio generated by StillTune is original to StillTune. We do not register our generated audio with YouTube Content ID or similar automated fingerprint-matching systems. Ambient sound is especially prone to false matches, and we do not want StillTune audio to be used to claim other people's work.
