Privacy Policy — Mobile App
This Privacy Policy applies to the StillTune mobile application for iOS and Android (“the App”). StillTune is a generative ambient sound app — it synthesizes calming soundscapes (drones, pads, bells, and nature textures) on your device in real time to help you relax, focus, and sleep. This policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Privacy at a Glance
What we don't do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We do not record audio or use your microphone.
- You can use the core App with no account.
What we do
- Sound generation happens locally on your device.
- An account is optional, only for sharing presets.
- The App shows ads through Google AdMob.
2. Information We Collect
We keep collection to a minimum. Depending on how you use the App, this may include:
Account Information (optional)
An account is only required if you choose to save or share Sound DNA presets. If you create one, we collect your email address, a hashed password when you use email login, and an optional display name. If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the account identifier and any email or name details you choose to share, including Apple private relay addresses.
Sound DNA Presets You Share
When you publish a preset to the community, the preset name, its sound parameters (“Sound DNA”), and your display name become publicly visible to other users. Your in-app preferences (selected mode, mixer levels, theme, sleep timer) are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded unless you choose to share them as a preset.
Device & Technical Information
To keep the App running well, we and our service providers may process basic technical data such as device type, operating system version, app version, language, and crash or performance diagnostics.
Advertising Data
The App is supported by advertising through Google AdMob. To serve and measure ads, AdMob may access your device's advertising identifier and limited device/network information. You can limit or reset this identifier in your device settings at any time (see Section 4).
3. Third-Party Services
The App relies on a small number of third-party services to function. Each operates under its own privacy policy and may process data independently:
- Google AdMob — serves and measures advertising. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Sign in with Apple / Google Sign-In — used only if you choose social login to create an account.
- StillTune backend — our own servers store accounts and community presets you choose to share.
4. Advertising Identifiers & Tracking (iOS)
On iOS, the App may ask permission to access your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) through Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework. This is used only to support advertising and to deliver more relevant ads.
If you decline, you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized based on activity across other apps. You can change your choice anytime under Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking on iOS, or by resetting your advertising ID under Settings › Google › Ads on Android.
5. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the App and generate its soundscapes
- To let you create an account and share or save Sound DNA presets
- To display and measure advertising
- To diagnose crashes, fix bugs, and improve performance
- To respond to support requests and enforce our Terms
- To comply with applicable legal obligations
6. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with:
- Service providers who help operate the App (advertising, authentication, hosting)
- Other users, but only for presets and the display name you choose to publish
- Legal authorities when required by applicable law or valid legal process
- Successors in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
7. Data Retention
Preferences stored on your device remain until you delete them or uninstall the App. Account data and shared presets are retained while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
8. Deleting Your Account & Data
You can delete your account in the App from the Account screen, or request deletion by emailing privacy@stilltune.com from your registered address. You can also visit our Support page. We will process verified requests within 30 days.
Uninstalling the App removes locally stored preferences but does not delete a server-side account.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact privacy@stilltune.com and we will delete it promptly.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your region, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us:

11. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted data transmission and secure credential storage on your device. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the App evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
